I have been teaching elementary age students for over 14 years. My educational background is a BA in Psychology and a Masters in Elementary Education. I am certified in New York and Florida. I have been a classroom teacher and worked with students in small groups and one to one. My most recent experience has been developing a home schooling program for a family in South Florida for the past two school years. We have recently changed to an online teaching format and it occurred to me that there are likely many students that could use additional support as the world adjusts to distance learning.
I have helped students become more motivated learners through improving their self-confidence with tailored instruction and encouragement to reach their potential. My areas of expertise are reading, writing, math and executive functioning. I have extensive experience with accelerated reading growth and with assessing and remediating skills gaps in reading, writing and mathematics. I love to help students find a topic that inspires them and create a project that helps them use their talents to express what they have learned.
I have worked with students on the autism spectrum, with speech and language disabilities, learning disabilities, behavioral disorders and attention deficits. I can honestly say that I have basically seen it all and have loved every minute of it.
I’m looking forward to learning more about your child so we can help them reach their true potential.
